Title and responsibilties

Principal Director (Staff), O/o Comptroller & Auditor General of India. New Delhi

Current responsibilities encompass budgeting and expenditure control as well as human resource management for SAI, India as a whole.  With respect to the approximately 45000 staff, HR policy management involves framing rules for recruitment, career management and disciplinary matters of the staff. Budget and financial management involves preparation, allocation and control of SAI India budget, monitoring expenditure of over 140 field offices spread all over the country, etc. 


Areas of specialisation include planning and managing high risk and complex audits in sectors like defence, petroleum and infrastructure. Besides, development of standards, capacity-building and mentoring are other areas of expertise
